{"id":168,"date":"2011-04-05T12:57:25","date_gmt":"2011-04-05T20:57:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.colorsynth.com\/?p=168"},"modified":"2011-04-10T08:51:29","modified_gmt":"2011-04-10T16:51:29","slug":"colorsynth-mainboard-jumperpin-connections","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.colorsynth.com\/colorsynth-mainboard-jumperpin-connections\/","title":{"rendered":"ColorSynth Mainboard jumper\/pin Connections"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.colorsynth.com\/images\/assembly\/CS-pins-1.jpg\"><br \/>\nJP1 is the power connector:<br \/>\nPin1) This is connected to Pin2 of JP2 which is DC+ from power over MIDI.<br \/>\nPin2) This is the DC+ input to the board, 12 to 15V is ideal.<br \/>\nPin3) Is not connected<br \/>\nPin4) Is ground<\/p>\n<p>-If you only want to use power over MIDI, wire pins 1 and 2 together.<br \/>\n-If you only want to use a wall wart power supply, wire the positive terminal of your power jack to pin 2 and the ground terminal to pin 4.<br \/>\n-If you want to use a switch between a wall wart and power over MIDI, wire the negative terminal of your power jack to pin 4, the positive terminal to one side of your switch, pin 1 of JP1 to the other side, and pin 2 to the center of your switch.<\/p>\n<p>JP2 and JP3 are MIDI in and out:<br \/>\nPin 1) Ground for power over MIDI (MIDI pin 1)<br \/>\nPin 2) DC+V for power over MIDI (MIDI pin 3) (on JP3 this is switched on\/off by pin 6 of the dipswitch)<br \/>\nPin 3) MIDI pin 4 (data).<br \/>\nPin 4) MIDI pin 5 (data).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.colorsynth.com\/images\/DIY\/midihw.gif\"><br \/>\nThis is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.midi.org\/techspecs\/electrispec.php\">MIDI electrical specification<\/a> if you need clarification on which MIDI pins this refers to.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.colorsynth.com\/images\/assembly\/CS-pins-2.jpg\"><br \/>\nJP4 is the LED connector:<br \/>\nPin 1) Blue LED cathode (-)<br \/>\nPin 2) Green LED cathode (-)<br \/>\nPin 3) Red LED cathode (-)<br \/>\nPin 4) Common anode for all (+).
